About Us High Plains Lowline Angus was founded in February 2001, after purchasing our first heifer at the inaugural National Lowline sale held in Denver that year. We purchased the 2000 Iowa State Fair Jr. Grand Champion Female Ms. Rocking Brenton 195G. After that purchase we joined the American Lowline Association and became member #124. This was not a chance happening. We had been following the Lowline breed at exhibits given during the National Western Stock Show since they were first brought to Denver. After considerable observation, information gathering, and planning the move to Lowline was made. Since that first purchase 10 more ½ blood heifers have been added to the herd. We are now producing ½, ¾, and pure bred stock by breeding up and holding back the better calves. Our efforts have not gone unrewarded. In 2 years of showing at the National Level High Plains has won;
The mission here at High Plains is to keep producing prize winning stock using a breading program that has been laid out for a minimum of 4 generations, with allowance to make changes that will eliminate any undesirable features in our animals by using the abundant number of quality herd sires available. At the present time High Plains has reached the point where next years calf crop will include several full blood calf's sired by Beau Lad. This choice was made to maintain the same high quality that we have in our percentage cattle. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions, or may want to purchase stock to start your own program. |
